In design, technology and operating philosophy, the Beogram 9500 record player is the perfect match for the Beocenter 9500 audio system. Its finish, therefore, is remarkably similar. The turntable is fitted with a polished metal inlay in the lid to match it perfectly. Visually, this model is indistinguishable from the Beogram 4500, the only difference being that the latter includes an RIAA pre-amplifier. Though the Beocenter 9500 was replaced by the simpler BeoCenter 9300, no matching turntable was offered for this model.
Technically-speaking, the Beogram 9500 is devoid of any RIAA pre-amplifier (unlike the Beogram 4500), and uses a light-weight MMC2 cartridge. Its electronic tangential arm plays each record at the exact angle it was cut giving the most precise reading of the grooves ensuring that every nuance of a recording is captured.
The arm was suspended by a patented B&O system which helped prevent vibrations from any source reaching the cartridge. The chassis suspension acted as an effective buffer against external vibrations.
